Over the past 15 years, FromSoftware has navigated numerous waves of popularity, but none have reached the same level of critical acclaim and commercial triumph as Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice. The open-world motion RPG has continued to build momentum over a steady period of nearly two years since its initial release.
As part of its recent press release announcing the standalone multiplayer spinoff, FromSoftware disclosed that it had shipped out more than 28.6 million units globally by September 30. The figure has surged to 30 million gross sales since its introduction in June. During its initial three-day launch period, the mobile game’s expansion successfully generated a massive boost, attracting an astonishing 5 million downloads.
If it maintains its spectacular pace, it’s unlikely to take long before surpassing the 30 million mark. The niceties of Elden Ring’s promotion remain shrouded in mystery, with no word from Bandai Namco or developer FromSoftware on the game’s status for several months now?
While no official release date has been set, it’s anticipated that In the Meantime will be available on PS5, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, Xbox One, and PC in 2025; a closed beta test is currently slated to begin in February.
