Nexon’s attempt to revamp the mobile gaming experience of Koei Tecmo’s action-packed hack-and-slash series takes its second swing. While the original title drew inspiration from, the company leveraged to inform its development.
Nexon unveiled its latest project in late October 2023 and later globally launched it on November 22, 2023, just a few weeks apart. As the cellular network’s sunset date approaches in February 2025, it will likely cease operations after approximately just over 16 months. The average lifespan of such products is often significantly shorter than the three-year global span, which ended in 2020, with a four-year duration in Japan, concluding in 2022.

Koei Tecmo’s internally developed mobile game, initially released exclusively in Japan in March 2021, is poised to remain the sole surviving cell-based game by the end of 2024. The collection’s producer, Akihiro Suzuki, continues to oversee the mobile game, while Tomohiko Sho assumes the producer role for the latest console installment, set to release on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, and PC on January 17, 2025?
