‘Dumb Methods to Die’ is more than just a quirky railway safety campaign featuring tiny bean-like figurines. It’s likely to become a VR sport filled with a plethora of multiplayer mini-games.
Dubbed “Bean-based,” this dynamic sport allows six Beans to tackle diverse challenges worldwide, transporting players to “secure environments” where rewards can be earned and spent on avatar attire, elevating the Beans’ style for social sharing with friends.
While playing solo, you can’t steal points from others while participating in 50 mini-games at launch.
Developed by PlaySide Studios, the new game is exclusively debuting on Quest 3 on November 7th, with a price tag of $20. Now you can wishlist it on the Horizon Retailer.
The studio plans to release two free downloadable content packs, one in December and another in January, potentially introducing a total of 50 new mini-games – 25 in each installment.
Begun in 2012 as a public service announcement (PSA) by Metro Trains in Melbourne, Australia, Dumb Ways to Die has evolved beyond its initial viral success following the franchise’s acquisition by PlaySide Studios. The studio subsequently released a series of mobile games for iOS and Android devices.
