At present, Battlefield 2042 offers Warfare and Operations, a more strategic mode that replaces the previous bringing-esque Operators, while featuring 64-player matches across 5 diverse maps. In the latter, players engage in intense PvPvE combat across diverse maps, either solo or in a duo of up to three teammates, striving to outmaneuver and outshoot opponents while scavenging for resources and escaping danger before succumbing to defeat. As players progress through the levels, additional tools become available to aid in overcoming increasingly challenging obstacles and enemies.
