While CD Projekt’s numerous initiatives are still in their formative stages, it remains too early to gauge their full potential, making it challenging to speculate on their ultimate success. In a recent update, CD Projekt revealed details about their reside motion adaptation, a new project set within the Cyberpunk universe, which they collaborated on with Nameless Content last year.
Talking throughout CD Projekt’s current quarterly earnings Q&A, co-CEO Michał Nowakowski acknowledged that the reside motion challenge is making good progress, however remains to be within the conceptual phases of improvement. While the game is still in development and not yet ready for pitching to streaming platforms or studios, CD Projekt’s managing director suggests that next year could be the time frame when they begin this process.
According to the transcription by VGC, the speaker implies that the conceptual stage has multiple phases of development, with progress evident compared to last year. However, they also clarify that they have not yet reached the point where they can begin acquiring rights to potential streamers or studios for the concept. “I’d venture to say that the timeframe between now and our next milestone is likely identical to the one we faced two years ago when we first introduced this initiative. Given that precedent, I would expect us to reach a point where we’re poised to acquire it.”
With the recent introduction of a reside motion challenge in September, CD Projekt is concurrently collaborating with Netflix on an additional animated series.
