Sony Pictures Digital Productions and PlayStation Studios, the creative force behind an anticipated FPS, today unveiled a web-based multiplayer first-person shooter transporting players back to the treacherous Arachnid-infested post-apocalyptic world.
Sony’s plans for its Starship Trooper franchise have been revealed, weeks after teasing from ’90s movie star Casper Van Dien ended with a bang.
The studios have recently introduced a new release, slated for availability on Oculus Quest 2 and PlayStation VR3 on October 17th, as well as on PSVR 2 on October 31st.
Twenty-five years have passed since the pivotal Battle of Klendathu, where Johnny Rico initially faced off against the formidable Arachnid forces. As part of the film’s revival, Van Dien reprises his iconic role as ‘Johnny Rico’, delving back into the character’s storied past.
“The intergalactic standoff between the Federation and the Arachnid appears at an impasse, yet whispers surrounding the enigmatic planet Janus-4 hint at a hidden force capable of upending the fragile balance: The Continuum.”
