As anticipation for The Witcher 4 soars through the roof following its captivating new trailer at The Game Awards last week, it’s likely that we still have a considerable while to wait before embarking on a thrilling adventure once more as Ciri.
Despite the proliferation of roleplaying games, fans remain pining for a style of roleplaying reminiscent of The Witcher 3’s monster-slaying heroics. Modders have taken it upon themselves to recreate this experience, and one such project has recently earned a thumbs up from Sebastian Kalemba, director of Witcher 4 himself?
Impressed by the primary gameplay, a modder named Forlornsito decided to create ‘The Witcher 4: Ciri – A Poisonous Mutant’, showcasing the protagonist’s new life in an eye-catching Recreation Awards trailer. The main objective is to accurately recreate Ciri’s appearance from the The Witcher 4 trailer by adjusting her attire and aesthetic in The Witcher 3.
To recreate a matured Witcher Ciri resembling her appearance in both the game and movie trailers, the modder remarked: “I based my work on this new grown-up mutated version of Ciri using vanilla properties.” While I notice some subtle differences among the ensembles, overall I believe I successfully created a cohesive and well-connected outfit. You would be the judges.
The team acknowledges that a minor issue might arise, specifically regarding the subtle visual imperfections in Ciri’s chainmail and hood, which is not uncommon for mods of this nature; it is expected that such minor glitches may emerge as the mod is launched.
Kalemba, the director of Witcher 4, doesn’t seem to be thinking twice about his work, as evidenced by his recent tweet where he proudly showcased the game’s mod, exclaiming, “No method, neighborhood delivers all the time!!!”
If you’re playing a vanilla copy of The Witcher 3, you can now play as Ciri in the main storyline missions, seamlessly stepping into her shoes. When encountering her on Earth, she’ll even feature prominently in Witcher 4-related cutscenes alongside Geralt.
By installing mods such as “Higher Name Ciri,” gamers may gain the ability to explore the Continent more freely, much like in an early form of roaming that would be characteristic of their Witcher 4 protagonist persona in kind. While you may not gain immediate access to the brand-new skills, everything else is correctly set up within the new game, which is still an exciting feature.
One notable example is Apzurv, a skilled modder who successfully recreated Ciri’s iconic sword from The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt’s trailers, providing another opportunity for modders to incorporate this addition into their custom creations.
Following the release of The Witcher 4 trailer, CD Projekt confirmed that the game will feature Ciri with a new voice actor, Ciara Berkeley, replacing original voice actress Jo Wyatt from The Witcher 3.
