Over the weekend, Black Ops 6 celebrated its inaugural Double XP Weekend in tandem with the release of Nuketown and the introduction of the Nuketown 24/7 playlist. Unfortunately, the event experienced technical issues, resulting in many players missing out on the double XP reward for their efforts.
Although Treyarch’s solution doesn’t necessarily address the issue at hand, it does provide a means for players to acquire additional weapons and character customization options.
The Double XP event, featuring enhanced soldier characters, extended weapon ranges, and an increased assortment of GobbleGums in Zombies mode, has been extended indefinitely. Despite initial expectations to complete by Monday, it appears that the project has been delayed and is now expected to conclude at a later date.
Treyarch announced the update in a tweet, revealing that a previously identified bug had been swiftly resolved, enabling all players to earn the additional XP without hindrance. The developer has declined to provide retroactive XP boosts to affected players, a decision that may prove disappointing considering Activision’s history of doing so in similar situations.
Broadly, the development of weapons has been a heated topic of discussion among the Black Ops 6 community, driven by the disparity between the pace of updates and the sheer number of attachments and unlocks available for each weapon variant?
While the developer’s statement did not offer explicit guarantees, it does indicate plans to “evaluate and stability development tuning” in the next phase of game development, which is slated to commence with Season 1 on November 14. This patch would ideally bring much-needed adjustments to XP earning rates or potentially reduce the XP required for weapon upgrades.
While XP bugs may arise, our collective focus remains fixed on progress.
