Astro Hunters VR, an innovative PvPvE extraction shooter, is set to debut on Steam next month, marking its multi-platform launch.
Developed by Wenkly Studio, renowned for their critically acclaimed titles such as Survival Nation and Elven Murderer, Astro Hunters VR is a highly anticipated online multiplayer game featuring seamless cross-platform compatibility. Operating as elite mercenaries known as the Hunters, their primary objective entails exploring diverse planetary landscapes to gather vital resources and fabricate innovative equipment, while concurrently eliminating hostile adversaries wielding an arsenal of firearms, including pistols, rifles, rocket launchers, machine guns, shotguns, and sniper rifles.
In Astro Hunters VR, a threat-versus-reward approach is employed, allowing players to join forces with nearby gamers for mutual survival, or opt to eliminate them to claim a larger share of valuable loot. Sources are organized and managed within the confines of your ship’s crafting stations, serving as a central hub for resource allocation and manipulation. Meanwhile, weaponry can be upgraded with a diverse array of elemental modifications, including hearth, acid, plasma, and electrical energies, each offering unique advantages in combat scenarios.
As a follow-up to last month’s showcase at the Steam Next Fest, a free demo for Astro Hunters VR will be available on Steam from July 26-28, commencing at 1pm CEST. The studio has officially announced that the demo’s playtime is unrestricted, making it likely to have unlimited gameplay.
The highly anticipated Astro Hunters VR experience is set to launch on Steam on August 8th. The official website verifies a third-quarter 2024 release window for Quest, while Pico and PSVR 2 ports are scheduled to follow at a later time.
