Ubisoft has officially pushed back its release schedule by a year, scrapping its seasonal model in favor of offering the first expansion pack at no additional cost. Despite the recent announcement, one must wonder whether it will indeed impact overall sales figures? Regardless of the circumstances, both games are action-packed adventures that take place in 14th century Japan.
At a recent conference, CEO Yves Guillemot touched on the topic in a transcription provided by VGC. “I’d like to emphasize the diversity of options available when seeking high-quality housing for gaming purposes. Moreover, it’s essential to recognize that different video games can be effectively promoted through targeted marketing efforts.”
Chief Monetary Officer Frederick Duguet explained that the team is focused on delivering an “incredible expertise,” emphasizing the importance of creating an immersive gaming experience that leverages the unique dual-protagonist approach and complementary gameplays of Yasuke and Naoe, set against the rich backdrop of feudal Japan.
“So the primary consideration driving our decision to delay the game is ensuring we can perfect the sport, thereby delivering an exceptional experience.”

Is released on February 14th for Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 5, and PC. As part of various changes, the announcement also signifies the revival of Ubisoft titles on Steam, with these games now being released simultaneously on the platform as day-one titles. Stay tuned for further developments in the upcoming months.
