Innovative tabletop game Airspace Defender redefines the classic Missile Command experience, transforming it into a dynamic spatial recreation.
The brand-new title, unveiled for the first time at the UploadVR Summer Season Showcase, comes from studio Not Suspicious. As the Airspace Defender concept unfolds, it’s evident from the clip showcased that swift and strategic responses are crucial in repelling incoming missile threats, with carefully calculated retaliatory strikes expertly timed and placed to safeguard a metropolitan area.
After dedicating years to virtual reality projects, the builders predict a convergence of augmented and mixed realities with hand tracking technology as the most promising direction for their future endeavors.
According to developer Rafael Brochado in a statement to UploadVR, our preliminary testing indicates that MR with hand tracking is significantly more accessible and cost-effective to implement.
The project is still in its early development stages, but the developers are actively seeking community feedback through a Beta program available on the Quest store.
Airspace Defender is now available to play on Quest headsets via a beta link on the Meta Quest store.
