The launch date of Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 has shifted again, now slated for February 4, 2025, a full week earlier than its previously announced schedule.
The long-awaited medieval-themed game, where players embody chivalrous knights riding horses and mediocrely wielding swords amidst intense combat, has been rescheduled for February 11, 2025, following an initial delay in August. Now, despite being due before its initially scheduled delay, which ultimately results in both an early and a late arrival at roughly the same time – a remarkable achievement.
A tweet and accompanying video from Warhorse Studios revealed this information, as their PR supervisor Tobias Stolz-Zwilling shared details about the update alongside the changed date, simply stating “it’s what it is.” He also announced that a new story trailer for the game will be released today, December 5.
As Stolz-Zwilling emphasized, the potential for KCD2 to shine brighter has significant implications. The milestone marks a significant step forward, as the game nears the finish line with only minor tweaks and bug fixes remaining.
As a result of it has reached this level, Stolz-Zwilling also notes that Warhorse may release the game’s PC and console specs simultaneously with the trailer later today, bringing further excellent news for console players through confirmations that KCD2 will be PlayStation 5 Pro enhanced, featuring high-quality and performance modes on Xbox Series X/S and PS5.
While akin to its primary counterpart, this iteration boasts superior quality, as noted by Connor in our Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 preview from last summer: “The experience is marked by a significant reduction in ‘jank’ and avoidable frustration.” It seems to transcend, achieving greater heights, with more opportunities and innovative methods awaiting discovery. As I’ve witnessed numerous hours of the game, I’m confident that the home run will elude me here, yet I can clearly see the pitch heading straight for a well-charged bat. The swing looks crisp and deliberate, and the unmistakable crack of the ball is all but certain from my vantage point.
