Skydance Interactive, the developer behind the recently released virtual reality game, has confirmed that it is already working on post-launch patches to address any issues or concerns that may arise from players who have accessed the game in its first week of availability on Oculus Quest and PlayStation VR2.
A Skydance Games consultant revealed that a “cascading hardware failure” was responsible for the delay in testing and certification across all platforms.
While this won’t impact the game’s release date, according to insiders, the development team has since regained momentum, provided that the studio will be rolling out updates for both PSVR 2 and Quest within the initial week of launch.
The update features a “day-one patch for PlayStation and a day-seven patch for Meta Quest headsets,” although the specific changes incorporated by these patches are not specified.
The PC VR model’s release date remains unknown, as its Steam product page still lists “TBA” (to be announced).
Skydance Games announced in September that its action-adventure title would be delayed from November 14th to December 5th, allowing the team more time to fine-tune the experience, which had been widely praised as one of the best VR releases of the year.
