As you delve into the latest updates for Diablo 4’s upcoming Season 7, don’t overlook the significant benefits awaiting Vessel of Hatred owners in the forthcoming PTR launch next week?
For the upcoming seventh season, which is set to premiere in late January and beyond. Assuming no hidden surprises from the developer, the bonus, in reality, doesn’t significantly impact the overall scheme of things.
The pattern truly emerged with the launch of Season of Hatred Rising, Diablo IV’s inaugural and ongoing season to date. Diablo 4 introduced the concept of Runewords at its inception, but the feature remains exclusively available only to players who possess a Vessel of Hatred.
The concept of Runes isn’t entirely novel to Diablo; previous iterations have explored similar mechanics. The nostalgia factor reappears as a few elements in Diablo 4 draw inspiration from the classic Diablo 2. Runewords are socketable gems whose effects are contingent upon specific conditions being met in order for their outcomes to be triggered. While some existing sports features allow for exclusive ability activation based on specific lessons,
Now that Season Seven’s complete deal has been disclosed, it’s evident that additional Runewords and Runes may be introduced into the loot pool. As a special benefit, these rewards will once again be exclusive to owners of the Vessel of Hatred.
This clearly isn’t unintentional. According to an interview with Diablo boss Rod Fergusson by Polygon, the intention is to reward players who acquired the expansion with such incentives. While Fergusson didn’t explicitly mention Runewords during the interview, the possibility of additional incentives is still on the table, despite my skepticism that Blizzard wouldn’t want to exacerbate the divide between players who own the expansion and those who don’t.
The primary motivation for acquiring Vessel of Hatred likely stems from its comprehensive package, which includes the highly anticipated Spiritborn class, the inaugural explorable zone, the game’s first-ever raid, and all related narrative content.
While Blizzard may potentially host a final pre-launch livestream for Season 7, it’s unlikely that many details will remain under wraps, as they typically use these events to address outstanding questions and provide clarity on key aspects of the upcoming season. The Patch 2.1 Public Test Realm (PTR) marks a significant milestone by introducing seasonal content for the first time.
