A recent Windows 11 update appears to have rendered several Ubisoft games, including Star Wars: Outlaws, currently unplayable.
Don’t you find that computers can be frustrating at times? We rely heavily on these components, and sometimes, the replacement of just one small part can catastrophically malfunction without any apparent reason or warning? A recent Windows 11 update has caused inconvenience for Ubisoft game players, rendering several titles unplayable for unknown reasons. Microsoft acknowledges Windows 11 update issue causing problems with multiple Ubisoft games, assuring users it’s not just their hardware at fault after gamers report inability to play certain titles following recent patch.
“After installing Windows 11, version 24H2, users may experience issues with certain Ubisoft games,” states Microsoft’s official notice. These video games may occasionally exhibit unresponsiveness during initial startup, loading, or even in the midst of intense gameplay. Customers may encounter a black display screen in certain circumstances, as Microsoft has confirmed that the issue affects select video games, including Murderer’s Creed Valhalla, Murderer’s Creed Origins, Murderer’s Creed Odyssey, Star Wars Outlaws, and Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora.
To ensure a seamless Windows update experience, Microsoft has implemented a compatibility hold on devices with these specific games installed. These units are not eligible for installation on Windows 11, version 24H2 through the Windows Update release channel. We strongly advise against attempting to manually upgrade to version 24H2 using the Windows 11 Installation Assistant or the media creation tool until this issue is resolved.
Meanwhile, Ubisoft has released a temporary patch to address the issue, acknowledging that players may still encounter some performance fluctuations while a more permanent fix is developed. As soon as it’s ready, you’ll get to experience it. For the time being, it might be best to set aside these games, considering that your backlog is likely robust enough to fill the gap.
