Vimeo launches spatial video support for immersive professionals.
Vimeo, a leading video streaming platform akin to YouTube, has introduced a cutting-edge version of its app tailored specifically for VisionOS. Now readily available for acquisition, Imaginative and prescient Professional features a localized Vimeo model, complementing its existing library of 2D content with the addition of spatial video support, also known as stereoscopic or 3D.
The company celebrated the release of 360-degree video on Vimeo by introducing a spatial short film called ‘Currents’.
Unlike existing streaming platforms that offer 3D content on Vision Professional, such as Disney+, Vimeo is an open platform allowing anyone to upload and share spatial video through the app for viewing via Vision Professional.
Vimeo serves as the primary streaming platform for delivering Imaginative and prescient Professional content. Despite having created a headset, YouTube still lacks a dedicated local app, rendering its vast collection of immersive video content inaccessible without relying on third-party apps or cumbersome workarounds?
While TikTok is the largest open streaming platform with a dedicated app available on most devices, including those running Imaginative and prescient Professional, it unfortunately does not support spatial video functionality.
