This isn’t really Lian Li‘s first stab at a gaming desk PC case, with its present DK-05F & DK-04F providing an identical set of options. Despite the initial novelty having worn off, this new flagship PC case and top-tier gaming desk combination is now offered at a lower MSRP, making it a more accessible option for those on a budget.
Starting from the basics, the DK07 is a digital sit-stand desk that effortlessly adjusts to a range of 486mm, accommodating heights up to 1162mm at its highest point and 676mm at its lowest. Additionally, it includes three preset buttons that allow you to quickly select your preferred heights with ease. While the DK07’s design is impressive, it’s truly what sits atop its legs that sets it apart from others.
The top surface features a 6mm thick tempered glass panel at its core, flanked by 2mm thick brushed aluminum slats, which house a height-adjustable control panel on the left and a wireless charging pad on the right. One of the most significant changes from previous corporate desk designs is the elimination of the tempered glass top that previously spanned the entire desktop. While the total glass method may be undeniably attention-grabbing, the aluminum option remains a practical choice for many users.
Beneath the desk’s pedestal lie the CPU cooler mounting points, extending significantly lower than those found in many Lian Li picture frames, suggesting a higher-than-expected clearance requirement. Despite the entrance rim of the desktop being approximately 50mm shallow, the primary compartment, where the core computer components reside, extends significantly deeper. While intervening excessively in the setup is undesirable, it’s still worth considering if you’ve wondered whether the entire table was as thin as its front edge.
Within this entryway, you’ll find conveniently located USB ports, a standard 3.5mm headphone jack, and a discreet button to access the device’s programming features. One of our favorite aspects of this elegant desk case from Lian Li is its thoughtful inclusion of drawers, adding a practical touch to the overall design. These new systems will boast an enormous footprint of E-ATX dimensions, providing ample space to accommodate a selection of powerful and resource-intensive applications. While some gaming desk PCs have been designed with slim, customized profiles (as seen in examples 1, 2, and 3), the systems listed here deviate from that trend by utilizing standard orientations, allowing graphics cards to be mounted either vertically or horizontally as desired.
The design accommodates up to 12 120mm fans and multiple 480mm radiators; however, due to their standard orientation, standard air CPU coolers can be used, but ensure they’re not excessively tall. While this PC case does not come with any built-in followers or RGB lighting, there’s still plenty of space available to add magnetic RGB strips both inside and outside the enclosure.
While no Lian Li DK07 cases are currently available in inventory anywhere, the worth of this product stands at $1,399.99 – a significant investment, yet still more affordable than the initial price of $1,499.99 for the company’s previous gaming desktop PC cases.
