To commemorate its inaugural accurate transmission on Fallout Day, Bethesda unveiled an array of forthcoming content for Fallout 76, both imminent and in the pipeline. Pets, including playable ghouls, now available, accompanied by a massive underground dungeon featuring a colossal serpent. Todd Howard makes a surprise cameo appearance.
Bethesda’s recent blog post outlined its plans, as clarified during the 40-minute broadcast, where the company delivered on promises made prior to the event, despite fan requests for a Fallout 3 remaster, which garnered numerous tweets from enthusiastic followers seeking such an announcement.
What ultimately emerged. A colossal serpent, captivated by a marionette’s mesmerizing performance. The latest addition to the game’s repertoire of challenges is the Gleaming Depths raid, an immersive MMO-style dungeon experience. This behemoth of a feature introduces the Ultracite Terror, touted by developers as the largest boss in Fallout 76, and possibly even in any Fallout game thus far. Primarily, this massive serpent dominates its surroundings.
When Gleaming Depths releases in December, players will need to have overcome multiple challenging combat encounters throughout the dungeon. This “mysterious underground analysis laboratory” in the Ash Heap was once a research facility for the Enclave, where they studied radioactive Ultracite.
A gargantuan sentry bot, an Ulracite-obsessed mole miner known as “The Stalker”, and a squad of Enclave soldiers clad in power armor, operating under the directive of Epsilon.
Following this announcement, developers Jon Rush and Invoice LaCoste led the team, confirming that C.A.M.P pets will feature canines and cats as part of the upcoming Gleaming Depths update, along with gameplay snippets showcasing the previously announced playable ghouls set to arrive in early 2025. A significant update to the game’s features is forthcoming, with the inclusion of a fishing mechanic being tentatively planned for release at a later date. Participant titles will also be introduced in December, enabling users to assign a personalized name to their character, such as “Bossy Beast” or “Savvy Strategist”.
Todd Howard made a cameo to shut out the present, stating: “At Bethesda, we’re celebrating twenty years of dedicated work on the Fallout franchise. Countless individuals have contributed to its growth over the years, and I’ve heard from every single one of them that there’s no experience quite like working on Fallout.” The studio is anticipating further progress.
So, there you go. On Fallout Day, a significant milestone was celebrated when Bethesda’s Senior VP of Online Services, Pete Hines, announced that the iconic Fallout 3 mod has surpassed an astonishing one million downloads.
