Hitman: World of Assassination is transporting the entire trilogy to PlayStation VR2 in December.
As part of tonight’s State of Play event, IO Interactive announced that the entire Hitman: World of Assassination trilogy is coming to PSVR 2, building upon earlier efforts to bring the third installment to other platforms. According to developer IO Interactive, the model features dual-wielding capabilities paired with immersive room-scale gameplay, accompanied by innovative control schemes and fresh gameplay mechanics. IO Interactive has unveiled the forthcoming version’s features in a recent blog post, highlighting “active reloading,” on-body weapon holstering, sniper scope aiming, and manual interactions for disguises. The PlayStation VR2 edition takes advantage of the Sense Controller’s adaptive trigger support, with further announcements regarding options and enhancements to follow later.
The recent release of Hitman 3 VR: Reloaded brings the reboot trilogy’s conclusion to Quest 3, building upon its VR mode available previously on PSVR and PC VR platforms. While XR Video Games introduced significant updates such as a revamped user interface and the ability to wield weapons in tandem, our initial review and subsequent patch analysis were critical of Reloaded’s visuals, which we described as “flat” and lacking depth, as well as its gameplay experience, which we felt was overly simplistic, with numerous bugs detracting from the overall experience.
Hitman: World of Assassination is coming to PlayStation VR2 in December, arriving as a paid upgrade pack for existing PS5 owners for $10.
